It stimulates the entire body while stretching and reinforcing even the deepest muscles.
The circular, undulating, and spiral movements improve range in the joints, increase the flexibility of the spine and strengthen the abdominal muscles. It provides better awareness of the body in space, while improving balance and energy.
With the rhythm of breathing, posture is adjusted, tensions are released, and the joints are lubricated.
The method improves inner strength, flexibility, coordination, endurance, and concentration and brings a pleasant feeling of alignment and well-being.

A « three-dimensional » practice on equipment which respects the different natural positions of the muscles and the range of the joints.
The system of weights mounted on pulleys enables total freedom of movements gently and without any jarring shocks.

ON CHAIRS AND MATS
A practice on the floor and on chairs combining Yoga and Barre au sol.
You stretch and yawn in time with your breathing while engaging abdominal muscles.

JULIU HORVATH
« THERE IS NO LIFE WITHOUT MOVEMENT»
The Gyrotonic method was created at the end of the eighties by Juliu Horvath, former principal Romanian ballet dancer with the NEW YORK CITY BALLET.
Injured, he was looking for ways to heal through different practices such as yoga. After several years of intense inner exploration and research, he created what he first called “yoga for dancers”, which today has become Gyrokinesis.
To improve his method, he developed a system of exercises with equipment, accessible to people of all abilities regardless of their age or physical conditions: Gyrotonic expansion system.
“The goal is to be at home in your own body, to experience greater freedom of movement, to no longer feel restricted and inhibited, to be free from pain, to be at one with your own nature, and to experience the exercise as a creative and delicious experience.”
